Rye Harbour

Different selection of avian highlights this morning mainly from the Beach Reserve, 2 Greenshank, Common Sandpiper and 5 Black-tailed Godwit on Harbour Farm pools, also now that the weather has finally turned Lapwings are settling down and displaying in good numbers on Harbour Farm. At Ternery Pool several passing visits during the morning produced at least 170 Mediterranean Gull, 45 Common and 140 Sandwich Tern. A Raven was present along Shore Ridges at day break and 4 Little Terns were roosting along the shore. At Castle Water a brief visit to the viewpoint produced a Cuckoo in the nearby willows.
