Bracket Fungus

This fungus first appeared on our Fairlight front garden oak tree last year, it disappeared during the winter but came back impressively this summer. Measuring 50 cm across , it appears to be Ganoderma resinaceum, an uncommon species found on living broad leaved trees, especially Beech and Oak.
