Geranium Bronze

From Gordon Jarvis by e-mail - I was looking for insects in my garden in Peasmarsh yesterday afternoon when an unusual looking butterfly landed alongside me. I was able to take a couple of pictures before it flew off and thought at first it was a female  Short-Tailed Blue, Everes argiades a rare migrant. However, Ralph Hobbs has seen this species on the Continent and was uncertain, so did some research and came up with the identification of Geranium Bronze, Cacyreus marshalli. This has been confirmed by Colin Pratt.  Click here for more detail.
