RSPB Dungeness Weekend Sightings

With some lovely sunshine over the weekend our visitors were able to spot a variety of different birds and wildlife at the reserve. 6 Egyptian geese were seen on Hooker's pit, 2 male and 3 female smew were seen on Burrowes pit from the visitor centre along with plenty of pintail, gadwall, goldeneye and shoveler.

A black-necked and slavonian grebe were seen on New Diggings yesterday. A bittern was seen at Denge Marsh on Saturday.

4 marsh harriers and a female hen harrier were spotted soaring over the reserve yesterday. We also have 2 resident long eared owls who continue to roost in the willow trees by our dipping pond and on some days can be viewed really clearly!
