Pett Level

The March birding doldrums are upon us, and this last week has been hard work [but somebody has to do it]. This morning at Pett was better, no wind and a decent selection of birds.

A Green Sandpiper was in the drained Military Canal, and A Barn Owl was hunting nearby . Med Gulls are around now, a modest four on the levels today and  14 on the nearby scrape, where also 3 Pintails.

7 Brent Geese and  50 Golden Plovers on the levels , 11 Grey Plovers roosting on the beach, a male Bearded Tit in the reeds at the pools, and the long staying Glossy Ibis near the west pool added up to  a productive couple of hours.
