That parakeet – a correction

The parakeet near Winchelsea that I reported here on Friday, it seems, was not a Ring-necked but an Alexandrine Parakeet (Psittacula eupatria) that has been seen several times in the area. Similarly green and long-tailed but a third larger; mentioned in the Collins Bird Guide but not illustrated. There are feral populations in Belgium and the Netherlands but I don't know whether it has established itself anywhere in England. Thank you to Phil Jones for correcting me.
